Awareness Activity on the Impact of Fast Food on Eye Health
As part of awareness and health education activities aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle practices, Ms. Hawraa Sadiq Hatif, Ms. Tamara Nihal Abbas, Ms. Zainab Ahmed, acarried out an awareness activity entitled:
“The Impact of Fast Food on Eye Health.”
The activity included educational content highlighting the negative effects of excessive consumption of fast food, which is high in fats, sugars, refined carbohydrates, and soft drinks, and its impact on eye health. These effects may lead to several health problems, including:
Vision ضعف → vision impairment
Dry eyes
Vitamin deficiencies
Poor blood circulation
Retinal inflammation
The activity also featured a nutritional comparison between fast food and healthy foods that are beneficial for eye health, such as:
fish, carrots, vegetables, and salads, aiming to promote the concept of healthy nutrition and its role in preventing eye diseases.
This activity comes within the framework of enhancing health awareness and spreading nutritional culture, encouraging students and the community to reduce fast food consumption and adopt a healthy lifestyle that positively impacts overall health and eye health in particular.
