The Department of Biochemistry organized a scientific awareness workshop on the occasion of World Breast Cancer Day, as part of its efforts to promote health awareness and disseminate medical knowledge among college students and the academic community.
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Dalia Shaker Obaida, covering important topics including an introduction to breast cancer, its causes, associated risk factors, and the importance of early detection, which plays a critical role in increasing recovery rates and reducing complications. She also highlighted modern methods of diagnosis and prevention, emphasizing the significant role of health awareness in protecting the community.
The workshop was attended by Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Nasser Abdulhassan Nasser, and Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Farat Hamza Al-Sultani, along with faculty members and students, reflecting the administration’s support for the scientific and awareness activities organized by the department.
The event witnessed active engagement from the attendees, who showed keen interest in benefiting from the valuable information presented, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in raising health awareness within and beyond the academic community.
