In line with its commitment to global academic openness, Future University organized the international EURAS Academy 2026 Forum in collaboration with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS) on the morning of Thursday, January 29, 2026, on the university campus. The event witnessed wide participation, including the Union’s President, representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as several university presidents and ministry officials. The forum represented a prominent international academic event, providing an effective platform for scientific dialogue and the exchange of expertise between academics and policymakers. It highlighted Future University’s advanced standing at both regional and international levels, particularly as it marked the first international event of this kind hosted by an Iraqi university, bringing together a distinguished group of experts and scholars from various countries. On the sidelines of the forum, and as a strategic step aimed at activating its outcomes and enhancing its results, a joint scientific cooperation memorandum was signed between Future University, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, and Istanbul Aydın University, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın, who also serves as the President of the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), which comprises over 150 member universities from Europe and Asia. The memorandum of cooperation includes several strategic areas, most notably supporting the academic mobility of faculty members and students, developing joint scientific research, updating curricula, as well as exchanging expertise in technological innovation, university governance, and education diplomacy. These efforts aim to strengthen the relationship between the university and society and to consolidate the role of universities in achieving sustainable development.
