In fulfillment of the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education). The Department of Optical Technologies organized an awareness workshop entitled “Aware Youth… A Secure Nation,” presented by lecturers Hassan Faiz and Hamza Nader, as part of its efforts to strengthen the values of good citizenship and promote a sense of national belonging and responsibility among students. The workshop aimed to raise awareness among young people about their vital role in safeguarding the security and stability of the nation through adherence to ethical values, intellectual awareness, and the rejection of extremist ideas and negative behaviors that may affect social cohesion. It also highlighted the importance of community awareness and the role of university students in spreading a culture of peace and tolerance. The workshop covered several key themes focused on building a conscious personality capable of distinguishing between accurate and misleading information, as well as emphasizing the responsible use of social media in ways that enhance intellectual and societal security. At the conclusion of the workshop, the presenters affirmed that youth represent the fundamental pillar for building the nation’s future, and that investing in their awareness and education is the path toward a safe and stable society characterized by cooperation and mutual respect.
