Modern technologies play a pivotal role in combating epidemics, as reliance on technology has become a fundamental element in addressing the spread of infectious diseases. Advanced digital tools, including artificial intelligence and big data analytics, help track patterns of disease transmission, identify outbreak areas, and predict potential infection pathways, enabling health authorities to take proactive measures to limit the spread of the epidemic. Mobile applications also contribute effectively to monitoring the spread of epidemics by allowing individuals to report symptoms and share health information quickly and securely. These applications facilitate contact tracing and send alerts to people who may be at risk of exposure, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of preventive measures and reducing the rapid transmission of infection. In addition, these technologies provide a platform for following official health guidelines, delivering preventive instructions, and supporting public health awareness campaigns. By integrating digital analytics and smart applications with public health strategies, faster and more accurate epidemic responses can be achieved, minimizing the associated health, social, and economic impacts. This makes technology an indispensable tool in the modern era for addressing global health challenges. Al-Mustaqbal University — the first university in Iraq.
