And under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Optics organized an awareness lecture in furtherance of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal Three (Good Health and Well-being), on Tuesday, 24/2/2026.
The lecture, entitled:
“The Impact of Fasting on Women’s Mental Health”
was delivered by Ms. Hawraa Sadiq and Ms. Haneen Haider.
The activity addressed the psychological dimensions of fasting and its effects on hormonal balance, mood, anxiety, and energy levels, based on recent scientific studies. An open discussion session was held to answer participants’ questions and to clarify individual differences in psychological responses to fasting.
The activity aimed to promote health and psychological awareness within the university environment. This initiative comes as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance health and mental awareness among female students and the wider university community.
