The Department of Biochemistry Organizes a Scientific Workshop Entitled “How to Detect Diseases from a Drop of Blood”

As part of its scientific activities aimed at raising health awareness and enhancing students’ medical and laboratory knowledge, the Department of Biochemistry organized a scientific workshop entitled “How to Detect Diseases from a Drop of Blood,” delivered by Dr. Mustafa Ali Al-Awadi. The workshop highlighted the importance of blood tests in early detection and accurate diagnosis of various diseases. The workshop aimed to introduce students to blood sample analysis techniques and key biomarkers that can indicate a patient’s health status, as well as to explain the role of modern laboratory technologies in diagnosing different conditions such as blood disorders, infections, immune system abnormalities, and certain chronic diseases. It also included a simplified explanation of blood sample collection procedures and proper laboratory handling, emphasizing the importance of accuracy to ensure reliable results. The workshop further highlighted the role of blood tests in monitoring health status and evaluating treatment effectiveness. The workshop witnessed notable interaction from students through questions and scientific discussions, contributing to a deeper understanding and reinforcing concepts related to laboratory diagnostics. This workshop is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the Department of Biochemistry aimed at developing students’ scientific and practical skills and linking theoretical knowledge with hands-on applications, thereby preparing qualified professionals in both medical and laboratory fields.
