In line with its social responsibility and its commitment to promoting digital awareness among students, the Department of Business Administration at the College of Administrative Sciences organized an awareness campaign entitled “Safe Babylon… Our Children Are a Digital Responsibility.” The campaign involved distributing informational posters throughout the university and across various academic departments.
The campaign aims to highlight the risks of cyber extortion, explain its methods and negative impacts, and raise students’ awareness of preventive measures and how to respond to exploitation or threats gaming platforms and social media.
The poster included a definition of cyber extortion, which involves threatening individuals with the publication of photos, videos, or personal information in exchange for money, while emphasizing the importance of safe and responsible internet use.
This initiative comes as part of the Department’s efforts to strengthen a culture of digital safety and to reinforce concepts of protection and awareness among students, contributing to the creation of a conscious university environment capable of addressing contemporary digital challenges.
The Department Presidency affirmed that such initiatives represent an important step toward supporting digital security and protecting young people from the risks of cyberspace, wishing everyone continued safety and well-being.
May God grant success.
