A lecturer, Asst. Lect. Haider Jabbar Hassan, from the Department of Archaeology at Al‑Mustaqbal University delivered an academic lecture entitled “Coinage Production and Its Importance in Political Media during the Islamic Era.” The lecture was attended by a number of faculty members and students of the department. The lecture discussed the development of Islamic coinage production across different historical periods, highlighting its significance not only as a means of economic exchange but also as an important political and media tool used by Islamic states to demonstrate sovereignty and legitimize authority. The speaker also reviewed the inscriptions and writings minted on dinars and dirhams, which included the names of caliphs and rulers as well as religious phrases, making coins an effective medium for conveying political and religious messages to society. The lecture emphasized that coins are among the most important material historical sources relied upon by researchers in studying Islamic history, as they provide valuable information about rulers, their reigns, and the political and economic transformations that occurred throughout the Islamic state. The lecture concluded with active interaction from students through questions and discussions, which enriched the academic dialogue and strengthened knowledge in the field of historical and archaeological studies. #Al-Mustaqbal University, the Leading Private University in Iraq
