In line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), the Department of Optics organized an advanced educational workshop on the Eye Ultrasound Device, with the participation of M.M. Muhimen Samir Aref and Ghofran Sabah Ta’ma. The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the basics of using the device, the scientific and medical principles behind it, and to provide practical training in examining and diagnosing various eye conditions.
The workshop included theoretical lectures on:
The components of the ultrasound device and their functions.
Accurate measurement techniques for different parts of the eye.
The importance of ultrasound in monitoring retinal, lens, and corneal diseases.
A practical session was also held, where trainees applied hands-on practice using the ultrasound devices, helping them develop their technical and clinical skills, and understand how to accurately read and analyze results.
Participants emphasized that the workshop contributed to enhancing their practical competence and increased their expertise in handling modern diagnostic devices, supporting the development of the educational and training process in the Department of Optics.
