Under the patronage of the President of Future University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, the university launched a large-scale tree planting campaign on its campus and surrounding areas on March 14, 2026. The initiative resulted in the planting of 10,000 saplings of perennial trees, contributing to the national tree-planting program and supporting national efforts aimed at protecting the environment and promoting sustainability. The campaign was organized in coordination with the University’s Diwan Affairs Department, which oversaw the implementation and monitoring of the various stages of the planting process to ensure that the environmental goals of this initiative were achieved. This campaign reflects Future University’s commitment to playing a scientific and community-oriented role in supporting environmental initiatives and increasing green spaces within the campus. This not only helps improve the campus environment but also provides healthy and attractive natural spaces for students and university members. Moreover, it contributes to reducing the negative effects of climate change. The campaign witnessed widespread participation from academic leaders, university professors, and members of the university community, including students, particularly those involved in the "Sustainability Ambassadors" initiative. They actively participated in the tree planting process, distributing and planting saplings in several locations across the campus to enhance the plant cover and give the university’s facilities a sustainable aesthetic and environmental character. The initiative aims to expand green spaces, reduce the carbon footprint, and contribute to addressing the challenges posed by climate change. It also seeks to raise environmental awareness among students and the university community, encouraging volunteer initiatives that strengthen the role of academic institutions in protecting the environment and serving the community. Furthermore, the university aims to foster a culture of volunteerism among students, enhance institutional belonging, and promote teamwork and shared responsibility for preserving the environment and developing the community. At the end of the event, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, the President of the University, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Diwan Affairs Department for their significant efforts in making this important environmental event a success. He also praised the active participation of the university’s professors, staff, and students. Dr. Hassan Shaker emphasized that Future University will continue to support environmental and scientific initiatives that promote sustainability and align with national efforts to preserve natural resources and build a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
