In line with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and in support of Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), the Department of Optics and Photonics at Future University organized an extensive academic seminar titled: “Women’s Participation in the Labor Market: Promising Opportunities and Contemporary Challenges.”
The seminar opened by emphasizing that women’s participation in the economic cycle is not merely a matter of rights, but a strategic necessity for achieving comprehensive progress. The seminar addressed the reality of women’s presence in the public and private sectors, reviewing statistics that indicate tangible progress, alongside an urgent need to bridge gaps in certain technical and leadership sectors.
The seminar focused on two main themes:
The first axis: the structural and social challenges facing working women, including the balance between family and professional life.
The second axis: proposed solutions and policies, which included promoting women-friendly work environments, strengthening continuing education programs, and ensuring equal opportunities for access to decision-making positions.
