Al-Mustaqbal University Holds an Academic Symposium to Review Digital Transformation Mechanisms and Strengthen Program Accreditation

Al-Mustaqbal University held an expanded symposium chaired by its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, on Monday, June 16, 2025, with the participation of senior staff, a distinguished group of faculty members, and university personnel. The symposium was organized as part of the University’s efforts to enhance institutional performance efficiency and to keep pace with the requirements of digital transformation and program accreditation in higher education institutions. The symposium commenced with a keynote address delivered by the University President, in which he extended his congratulations to the University’s staff on the occasion of the approaching Eid al-Fitr, and commended the efforts exerted during the previous period, which contributed to achieving a number of accomplishments at both academic and administrative levels. In this context, he emphasized the importance of adopting a teamwork-oriented approach as a fundamental entry point for improving institutional performance, alongside the necessity of automating administrative and educational processes in alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The President further clarified that digital transformation extends beyond the mere adoption of electronic systems; rather, it requires comprehensive development in organizational structures and institutional culture to ensure efficiency and transparency in managing the educational process. He also stressed the importance of strengthening the relationship between students and the educational institution, and fostering a university environment based on mutual respect and positive engagement. For his part, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri, delivered an analytical presentation addressing research performance indicators at the University, as well as mechanisms for evaluating academic performance in accordance with the formation plans for the 2025–2026 academic year. He also discussed ways to activate memoranda of understanding with local and international universities, in a manner that enhances joint research output and elevates the University’s academic presence at both regional and international levels. Dr. Al-Zuheiri also highlighted institutional preparations for organizing the “Future Sustainability Week,” in addition to preparations for participation in the EURIE 2026 Summit, as an international platform for exchanging expertise and strengthening cooperation in the field of higher education internationalization. In a related context, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Bawi, reviewed the regulations governing the work of examination committees, emphasizing the importance of adhering to approved procedures to ensure integrity and accuracy in examination management, particularly in light of the expanded use of digital systems. The symposium also included discussions on several organizational themes, including mechanisms for operating educational electronic systems such as IQ Learning and SIS, quality assurance and academic accreditation requirements, as well as the implementation of workload and salary systems linked to technological infrastructures and the need for both technical and administrative integration. This symposium forms part of a series of academic and administrative initiatives undertaken by the University to strengthen institutional governance and achieve integration between academic and administrative units, thereby supporting sustainable development pathways and enhancing the quality of higher education.
