Keratoconus is an eye condition that affects the shape of the cornea, leading to distorted vision. Although the condition does not directly affect cognitive ability, the resulting vision problems may cause: - Eye strain - Difficulty focusing - Eye pain resulting from excessive rubbing or carrying heavy objects - Increased sensitivity to light Effects on Daily Life: - Difficulty reading or working on screens - Problems driving, especially at night - Difficulty recognizing faces Effective Treatment - Ortho-K lenses to improve vision Features of Ortho-K Lenses: 1. Immediate reshaping of the anterior corneal surface from a conical shape to a spherical shape, thereby eliminating astigmatism and significantly improving vision. 2. Stopping and preventing corneal ectasia and the resulting recurrent endothelial ruptures, along with the aforementioned complications. 3. Gradual corneal remodeling to achieve a natural, gradually sloping spherical shape (Prolate Shape). Thus, this innovative lens offers new hope to all keratoconus patients, enabling them to return to an active professional and social life immediately upon using this new lens innovation. The lens is made of fluorosilicone acrylate, which provides it with high oxygen permeability combined with the flexibility of silicone, allowing individuals to wear it for extended periods during work or social activities.
