Following the recent directives of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Hassan Shaker Magdy, discussed during meetings with faculty deans, the Office of Scientific and Academic Supervision held an expanded meeting of the Women’s Affairs Department on March 24, 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Academic Supervisor, Professor Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, and attended by Ms. Mary Imran, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division at the University Presidency, along with several liaison officers from various university units.
The meeting emphasized the importance of monitoring the implementation of the ministerial program on women’s affairs to enhance women’s participation across academic and community domains. It also highlighted the need to effectively document women’s activities and initiatives and to disseminate them through media outlets and social media platforms to raise awareness and promote community engagement.
In his opening remarks, Professor Al-Zuhairi stressed the pivotal role of women in building an informed and educated society. He underscored the importance of activating the role of the Women’s Affairs Division within the University Presidency and faculties by organizing awareness programs and specialized workshops that address contemporary challenges, including technological advancements, artificial intelligence, and climate change.
The discussion also focused on highlighting women’s contributions to tackling these challenges and exploring ways to empower them through participation in community dialogues and the hosting of influential female figures. This reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to achieving sustainable development goals and strengthening women’s presence in these vital areas.
The meeting further addressed enhancing the Women’s Affairs Division’s participation in “Future Sustainability Week”, scheduled for mid-April 2026, offering a significant opportunity to showcase women’s roles in addressing sustainability and environmental issues.
The session concluded with contributions from attendees, who proposed several initiatives to further develop the work, mechanisms, and plans of the Women’s Affairs Division for the academic year 2025-2026, in alignment with the university’s academic and strategic objectives in promoting women’s issues and equality.
The overarching goal remains to empower women across all academic and community levels, contributing to sustainable development and reinforcing the university’s position as a leading institution shaping the Al-Mustaqbal University.
