As part of efforts to promote environmental awareness and reinforce the concepts of sustainable development—particularly Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 15 (Life on Land)—the Department of Optics Techniques organized a tree-planting campaign at AL-Mustaqbal University on Monday 6/4/2026, with the participation of a number of students and under the supervision of the following faculty members: Dr. Marwan Hisham Mohammed, MSc Hamza Nader Abdoon, MSc Fatima Haider Jassim, MSc Safa Amer Khalil, Ms. Ghufran Sabah Nima, Ms. Zahra Abbas. The campaign included planting a variety of trees in the university’s gardens, in an effort to enhance the academic environment with sustainable aesthetic guidelines, as well as to instill environmental awareness among the student community. For its part, the supervising committee emphasized the central role these community initiatives play in aligning with global trends in economic development and a deep sense of responsibility toward the environment; for this reason, these efforts aim to prepare a generation that is aware of the most critical issues in the field of social change. This initiative falls within the university’s strategic activities aimed at achieving its goals and objectives for institutional development.
