Soccer Match to Raise Awareness of Sustainability, Featuring Faculty and Fourth-Year Students

In pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through the promotion of physical activity, and Goal 4 (Quality Education) through the support of an inclusive and stimulating learning environment, the Department of Optics Techniques organized a friendly soccer match on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at the University Stadium, bringing together fourth-year students and a select group of faculty members, in an initiative aimed at fostering positive communication and establishing an integrated university environment that combines academic pursuits with extracurricular activities. The match featured outstanding participation from the faculty members: Msc Mahim Samir Aref, Msc Samer Hussein Mohammed, Msc Hamza Nader Abdul-Awn, Msc Ibrahim Saad Abdul-Kazim. Their active presence contributed to a distinctive competitive atmosphere that reflected the depth of the relationship between students and faculty. The match was marked by spirited athletic performance and impressive skills from both teams, through which participants embodied the values of cooperation, belonging, and teamwork. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals and was widely welcomed by the students, who expressed their delight at such initiatives that help break the academic routine and foster a sense of belonging within the university community.
