In pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and as part of the Department of Optics Techniques ongoing efforts to improve academic and administrative performance, an educational workshop was organized under the title “Mechanisms for Preparing Annual Plans for Department Committees and the Working Mechanisms of the Examination Committee,” Presented by Lecturer Msc Hamza Nader Abd-Awn which held in the Student Activities Hall on Saturday 4/4/2026, with distinguished attendance by the department’s teaching and administrative staff. The workshop aimed to develop staff skills in preparing annual plans based on clear scientific and methodological foundations, in line with academic quality requirements, as well as to highlight the working mechanisms of the Examination Committee and its vital role in organizing the examination process and ensuring its transparency and accuracy. The workshop featured a detailed presentation on the mechanisms for preparing annual plans, starting with the formulation of objectives and the setting of priorities, through the distribution of tasks among committee members, and concluding with a review of the organizational procedures adopted in exam administration—from the preparation of schedules to the announcement of results in accordance with precise regulations. The workshop also saw notable engagement from the audience, as a series of questions and comments were raised that contributed to deepening the discussion and exchanging experiences, thereby supporting the development of institutional performance within the department. This workshop is part of a series of scientific and developmental activities that the department is committed to organizing on an ongoing basis, with the aim of empowering academic and administrative staff and enhancing their competence, thereby contributing to the improvement of the quality of the educational process.
