The Central Activities Hall at Al-Mustaqbal University witnessed, on Thursday morning, April 9, 2026, the conclusion of the “Fifth Annual Al-Mustaqbal Book Fair,” held under the slogan “Our Book… Our Future,” under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University. Throughout the days of the fair, the venue experienced intensive intellectual activity, including literary seminars, poetry evenings, discussion workshops, and book signing events. The closing ceremony featured an official honoring segment, where the university presidency awarded shields and certificates of appreciation to participants and organizers in recognition of their efforts in making this event—described as the largest among Iraqi universities—a success. This edition recorded the participation of 25 Iraqi and Arab publishing houses and attracted a distinguished group of academics, writers, and poets, along with thousands of visitors from students and intellectuals. Dr. Ahmed Hassan Shaker, Head of the Student Activities Department, noted that this year’s fair was characterized by an “international dimension” and notable Arab participation, contributing to a broad exchange of cultural expertise. The fair aims to support cultural movement in Babil Province and Iraq, and to reinforce the university’s role as an integrated educational environment that builds a knowledgeable generation.
