Launch of the 4th International Future Sustainability Week at Al-Mustaqbal University Babylon – Sunday, April 12, 2026 The activities of the “Fourth International Future Sustainability Week” were launched at Al-Mustaqbal University under the patronage and presence of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with wide participation from researchers, academics, and students. The event is a week-long scientific and cultural program aimed at supporting the university’s direction toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and promoting a sustainable educational and research environment. This event is part of the university’s strategy to integrate sustainability into academic and applied tracks, enhance local and international scientific cooperation, and support innovation and student skills development. The first day witnessed the opening of exhibitions by the College of Medical and Health Technologies, which presented distinguished scientific and applied outputs across several specializations, including: Anesthesia and Radiology Cosmetic Technologies, Optometry, Rehabilitation, and Physical Therapy Community Health and Emergency Medicine Dental Technology and Medical Laboratories The College of Dentistry also opened its exhibitions, featuring technological projects and a sustainable dental clinic, along with discussions of high-quality graduation projects addressing periodontal diseases and their health impacts. In alignment with the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education), the Central Computer Lab was inaugurated, containing more than 300 modern computers and serving as the largest electronic examination center at the university, representing a major step toward digital transformation in the academic environment. On the international academic level, the first day included: The launch of the Second International Law Conference in cooperation with Mansoura University, focusing on issues of justice and equality and strengthening international research collaboration. The Fifth Nursing Forum organized by the College of Nursing, attended by the Head of the Iraqi Council of Deans of Nursing Colleges, addressing the development of nursing education quality in line with the Bologna Process. The central hall of the university hosted a comprehensive exhibition featuring outputs from the Colleges of Science, Engineering, Education, Archaeology, and Media. It also included student innovations from the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Agriculture, focusing on practical solutions that support sustainability concepts across various fields. As part of the accompanying activities, a physical sports hall for female students was inaugurated at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. The first day concluded with a tour of the Fine Arts Exhibition of the College of Fine Arts and book exhibitions, which witnessed significant attendance from students and visitors. The Fourth International Future Sustainability Week will continue for a full week, featuring scientific conferences, seminars, workshops, and various cultural activities aimed at strengthening sustainability concepts and enhancing academic and student creativity. The university invites all interested participants to take part in this distinguished scientific and cultural event, which reflects its vision toward a more sustainable future.
