As part of the Fourth International Al-Mustaqbal Week for Sustainability 2026, Al-Mustaqbal University organized the “Sustainability March” on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, inside the university campus, with wide participation from students and staff members, the “Ambassadors of Al-Mustaqbal for Sustainability,” and in the presence of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi. This initiative aims to enhance environmental awareness and reinforce the concepts of sustainability among students, turning them into practical behavior within and beyond the university environment, in line with the university’s vision of building a green and sustainable educational environment. The University President stated during the event that the strong student participation reflects a high level of environmental awareness and institutional belonging, noting that the university continues its efforts to embed a culture of sustainability as a practical approach to preparing a generation capable of leading change toward a more balanced and sustainable future. For his part, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision explained that the “Sustainability March” represents a practical application of the Sustainable Development Goals and reflects the university’s path since 2019 toward becoming a sustainable university, emphasizing the important role of students in spreading environmental awareness within society. The march included several awareness stops, during which participants reviewed the university’s key sustainability initiatives, including expanding green spaces, preserving biodiversity, adopting clean energy, applying hydroponic and tissue culture techniques, implementing waste recycling programs, using modern irrigation systems, and promoting green transportation within the campus.
