In line with the directives of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, to achieve the third Sustainable Development Goal (Good Health and Well-being), the Medical Physics Department at the College of Science launched an awareness campaign titled “The Importance of Understanding the Biological Clock.” The campaign featured the participation of sustainability ambassadors from teaching assistants and young students.<br /><br />The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the role of the biological clock in preventing early chronic diseases by educating students on the importance of sleep regulation, its role in enhancing immunity, and improving mental and physical health. The campaign included the distribution of informative brochures, which received significant engagement from students, with photos taken and shared across social media, contributing to the spread of health awareness both within and outside the university.<br /><br />Campaign Focus Areas:<br /> 1. Definition of the Biological Clock:<br /> • It is the internal system of the body that regulates sleep and wake cycles according to a 24-hour rhythm.<br /> • It affects overall health, energy, concentration, and digestion.<br /> 2. Its Role in Preventing Chronic Diseases:<br /> • Regular sleep reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.<br /> • It helps strengthen immunity and improve mental health.<br /> 3. The Role of Sleep in Detoxifying the Body:<br /> • 9-11 PM: Boosts immunity and growth hormone secretion.<br /> • 11 PM-3 AM: The liver works to detoxify and filter the blood.<br /> • 3-7 AM: The lungs and intestines eliminate accumulated toxins.<br /> 4. Health Challenge:<br /> • Encouraging students to sleep by 10 PM for 7 consecutive days.<br /> • Monitoring the impact of early sleep on energy, concentration, and overall health.<br /> • Sharing experiences on social media to spread the benefits.<br /><br />Participation of Faculty and Students in the Campaign:<br /><br />The campaign was led by Dr. Anis Ali, with the participation of teaching assistant Afrah Hussein Jihad, and teaching assistants Noor Al-Huda Ahmed, Mariam Reda, and Hassan Hadi Saleh, along with extensive student involvement supporting this health-oriented initiative.<br /><br />Impact and Goals of the Campaign:<br /><br />This initiative helped raise awareness among students, especially those not in medical fields, about the importance of regulating sleep to improve general health.
