ALMUSTAQBAL University organizes a scientific symposium on the harms of smoking

The Department of Archaeology at the College of Arts and Humanities at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific symposium entitled "The Harmful Effects of Smoking and Its Impact on Society" on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, with the participation of a number of professors, students, and those interested in health and awareness issues.<br /><br />The symposium was presented by M.M. Ria Nassif Jassim and M.M. Zaid Awad Attia, where they reviewed the health, social, and economic harms of smoking, in addition to highlighting the latest scientific studies on its effects on individuals and society.<br /><br />The symposium witnessed a distinctive interaction from the attendees, as the interventions and questions raised influenced the discussion, which contributed to enhancing awareness of the dangers of smoking and the importance of reducing its spread.<br /><br />This symposium comes within the framework of promoting the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (good health and well-being). This event comes within the framework of Al-Mustaqbal University's keenness to spread health and awareness culture among students and society, and to enhance the academic role in discussing issues that have a direct impact on public health.<br /><br />Al-Mustaqbal University – the premier university in Iraq.
