As part of student-led activities aimed at enhancing research and academic presentation skills, Ruqayya Kareem Abdul Muslim, a student from the Department of English at the College of Education – Al-Mustaqbal University, delivered a workshop titled "Street Food Culture Around the World", under the supervision of Lecturer Bara’a Sattar as part of the Select Readings course.<br />The workshop explored the concept of street food culture across various countries around the world. The student showcased the most famous street foods from several nations, explaining the origins of these dishes and their cultural and social impact on local communities. The session also highlighted how street food plays a key role in representing each country’s cultural identity and how it forms an essential part of daily customs and traditions.<br />The workshop witnessed active engagement from the students, who discussed the topic and the influence of street food culture on tourism, economy, and society. They also shared personal experiences related to street food from different countries.<br />This workshop aligns with Al-Mustaqbal University’s continuous efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically: Goal 4 (Quality Education): encouraging students to engage in academic research and develop their presentation and communication skills. Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage, including food culture, in promoting diversity and mutual understanding among communities. Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): fostering effective collaboration between students and faculty members to deliver impactful academic workshops.<br />At the end of the workshop, Lecturer Bara’a Sattar expressed her appreciation to Ruqayya Kareem Abdul Muslim for her outstanding effort in preparing and presenting the session.
