In alignment with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education) and As part of the ongoing scientific activities organized by the Department of Optics Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Mustaqbal University, a scientific workshop was held under the title “The Clinical Relationship Between the Lymphatic Glands and the Eye”, delivered by Mr. Hassan Qahtan.
The workshop addressed the close interconnection between the lymphatic system and ocular health, explaining that any disorder in the lymphatic glands can directly affect the visual functions and integrity of the eye tissues.
The lecturer reviewed key clinical conditions that reflect this relationship, such as viral conjunctivitis, toxoplasmosis, and measles, illustrating how inflammation of the glands near the eye can lead to ocular symptoms including redness, tearing, and eyelid swelling.
Mr. Hassan emphasized the importance of early diagnosis and the role of optometry specialists in identifying ocular signs that may indicate deeper systemic diseases. The workshop concluded by highlighting the need for collaboration between optometry departments and other medical specialties to ensure accurate diagnosis and integrated treatment that safeguard both ocular and systemic health.
