The Medical Instrumentation Engineering Techniques Department held an extensive educational workshop titled "The Dangers of Narcotics and Their Effects on the Individual and Society," presented by Instructor Mustafa Fahad. This is part of a series of activities aimed at enhancing health and behavioral awareness among students.
The workshop included a detailed explanation of the types of narcotics commonly circulated and their mechanisms of action on the nervous system. It also clarified the resulting health, psychological, and social harms, and outlined the initial indicators that may suggest drug use.
The lecturer focused on modern prevention methods and the role of educational institutions in raising awareness among youth, highlighting the importance of spreading a culture of refusal and avoidance of dangerous behaviors. The workshop witnessed significant interaction from students through questions and discussions, due to the practical and important information it contained, which contributes to building genuine awareness regarding this phenomenon.
The Department affirms that holding such workshops falls within its methodology of spreading community awareness, fostering a sound university environment, and consolidating a culture of protection from behavioral and health risks.
