The seminar included sequential scientific presentations by the students, focusing on modern molecular concepts related to the structure of DNA and RNA, mechanisms of replication, transcription, and translation, as well as research and clinical applications of molecular analysis and its role in understanding diseases.
The students also discussed proteomics and its role in studying proteins in terms of structure and function, and how this technique contributes to uncovering biological pathways linked to diseases, in addition to its importance in developing modern treatments. They also explored genomic mapping as a fundamental tool for understanding gene locations and interactions, and how genetic mapping helps in identifying mutations, studying molecular genetics, and supporting research aimed at diagnosing hereditary diseases with greater accuracy.
This activity reflects the department’s commitment to enhancing students’ scientific presentation skills and equipping them with applied research experiences that support their academic journey and prepare them for the advanced stages of their studies.
