Purpose of the Smart Military Helmet: The primary objective of the smart military helmet is to protect the head during accidents and reduce associated risks. For this purpose, an integrated system has been designed to safeguard military personnel and motorcycle riders from injuries and wounds. Concept: The idea involves designing and manufacturing an intelligent system that can be installed either inside or outside military and sports helmets, depending on the system components. The helmet can be worn for safety-related purposes. The system consists of motion sensors capable of detecting movement and direction (such as the gyroscope MPU-6050), a shock sensor to detect vibrations resulting from impacts, and another sensor for alerting users when objects are within a 2-meter proximity. These sensors, along with an Arduino Nano microcontroller and a voltage regulator, form the electronic “brain” of the system, which operates on 9-volt solar-powered batteries. The system is characterized by long battery life, compact size, a lightweight structure (200 grams), and a plastic enclosure that can be mounted internally or externally on the helmet without altering its exterior appearance. When the user wears the helmet and activates the system, an initial message is sent to designated contacts (such as a military paramedic or a family member). In cases of helmet impact, close proximity between two riders, or the presence of a side barrier within a tunnel at a distance of 1–2 meters, the sensors generate vibration alerts to indicate potential danger. The system is equipped with a GPS module to determine the accident location and send SMS messages to emergency services, medical personnel, and the rider’s family, providing coordinates of the incident to ensure quick access to the site via the shortest route. If there is no response, the intelligent system automatically places a call to both the family and emergency services within 10 seconds to accelerate rescue efforts. Beneficiaries: Ministry of Defense Ministry of Interior / General Directorate of Traffic All military personnel and motorcycle users across various segments of society Economic Feasibility: Saving a human life is priceless. The system can be manufactured easily since all required materials are available locally. The project has obtained an Industrial Design Certificate from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control.
