Many patients, especially those with limited incomes and the working class, struggle to obtain their basic nutritional needs. These products are often expensive and vulnerable to exploitation by some merchants who take advantage of patients' needs and raise prices greedily and unjustifiably. Furthermore, the fluctuating availability of these goods in the market complicates patients' lives and exposes them to serious health complications, including malnutrition, anemia, and digestive problems.
Therefore, I propose the following:
1. Importing and providing gluten-free products in sufficient quantities to meet actual market demand, to prevent shortages or price gouging by merchants. 2. Monitor the prices of these products through health and economic committees to curb commercial exploitation and prevent unjustified price hikes.
3. Include certain essential gluten-free products in the ration card system or offer them at subsidized prices in government-run central markets.
4. Support importers and local manufacturers by streamlining procedures or reducing customs duties on these goods to ensure they reach consumers at affordable prices.
5. Launch awareness campaigns to educate the public about celiac disease, the importance of gluten-free products, and how their unavailability poses a real threat to the health of those affected.
This proposal is not merely a nutritional requirement; it is a health and humanitarian necessity to guarantee a dignified life for thousands of patients who suffer in silence. Ensuring the continuous and regular availability of these products is a shared responsibility between health and economic authorities. This will alleviate a significant psychological and financial burden on patients and curb the greed of some merchants who exploit people's needs.
I hope this proposal receives serious attention, and that concrete steps are taken to ensure these products reach every patient who needs them without difficulty or exploitation.
