The Department of Life Chemistry at the Faculty of Science organized a specialized scientific workshop titled "Spectroscopy: The Spectral Fingerprint of Materials", presented by Assistant Lecturer Ms. Estabraq Aref Mohammed.
The workshop aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of spectroscopic analysis and its importance in identifying substances and analyzing their molecular structures through the unique "spectral fingerprint" of each compound.
The workshop covered several key topics, including:
· An introduction to spectroscopic methods (Infrared, Ultraviolet-Visible, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy).
· How to interpret spectra and deduce functional groups.
· Applications of spectroscopy in life chemistry.
It is worth noting that the Department of Life Chemistry continues to organize a series of specialized lectures and workshops that contribute to strengthening students' skills and developing their research capabilities.
