Modern biotechnology has revolutionized healthcare by improving diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention. It relies on using living organisms or their components in medical applications, making healthcare more precise and effective. One of the major achievements of biotechnology is the development of advanced vaccines based on genetic engineering, which are highly effective and safer. Cell cloning and tissue engineering have contributed to treating burns, skin diseases, and other complex conditions. Biotechnology has also enabled the production of vital biological drugs such as insulin and growth hormones. In diagnostics, techniques like Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) have played a key role in early detection of genetic and viral diseases, allowing faster treatment and reducing mortality rates. These advancements have improved healthcare efficiency and reduced long-term costs. In conclusion, biotechnology has become an essential pillar of modern healthcare, significantly improving medical services and saving lives. Al-Mustaqbal University – the first university in Iraq.
