Biochemistry is one of the foundational pillars of modern medical sciences, as it directly contributes to understanding the chemical and functional changes that occur in the human body during disease. The diagnosis of many modern diseases relies on the analysis of blood components and various bodily fluids, such as enzymes, proteins, hormones, and electrolytes—all of which are central fields within biochemistry. Biochemical tests play a crucial role in diagnosing heart diseases, diabetes, thyroid disorders, and liver and kidney diseases, helping to detect functional abnormalities at early stages. They also contribute to monitoring disease progression and evaluating the effectiveness of treatments, making them indispensable tools in modern medicine. The continuous advancements in biochemical analysis techniques have enhanced diagnostic accuracy and reduced medical errors, which in turn has positively impacted the quality of healthcare and the speed of appropriate therapeutic decision-making.
