The Cultural Relationships Department is affiliated to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Department is responsible for establishing and developing scientific and academic cultural exchange programs and organizing the memorandums of understanding with universities and institutions of mutual interest. Among the department's main tasks is raising the scientific, educational, and professional competence of faculty staff, and other technical and administrative staff in the university. This is achieved through facilitating the participation of all staff in their participation in local, regional and international scientific and cultural activities. Most of such participation are implemented under the umbrella of the signed memorandums of understanding with universities, organizations, unions, and bodies related .to education, culture, and science

1. conducting memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with national and international universities to facilitate opportunities for joint research, scientific conferences, and establishing agreements for advanced international academic programs with joint or dual degrees. 2. implementing the visiting professor program for professors coming from outside Iraq. 3. facilitating sabbatical leave, scientific visits, and joint academic supervision, for faculty members with higher academic titles. 4. To facilitate active participation in international meetings and seminars, exchange books and publications, and share expertise in modern digital transformation technologies in higher education. 5.To facilitate faculty members and students who have received university approval for postgraduate studies at prominat international universities.
