First Lecture of the Summer Training Program Delivered by Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi

As part of the summer training program organized by the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, the Center’s Director, delivered the first lecture of the series on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Continuing Education Center / Al-Qāḍiya. The lecture highlighted the importance of Artificial Intelligence in advancing engineering and technology fields, and its growing role in shaping the scientific future. Second Lecture of the Summer Training Program Delivered by Eng. Mohammed Saad Abis

As part of the ongoing Summer Training Program organized by the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University, the second lecture in the training series was delivered on Sunday, June 15, 2025, by Engineer Mohammed Saad Abis, a member of the AI Center team. The Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University announces the upcoming launch of its summer training program for students of the Colleges of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Continuing Education Center – Al-Mustaqbal University / Al-Qāḍiya. This program, part of a previously announced specialized training curriculum, aims to develop students’ scientific and research skills, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies that align with the evolving demands of the job market. As part of its ongoing efforts to raise awareness and strengthen preventive measures in digital environments, the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University has developed a comprehensive chart outlining the major Information Technology Risks that institutions may face. Prepared by Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, the diagram categorizes risks into key areas: technical, human, natural, operational, and cybersecurity-related threats, including data breaches, misuse, incompetence, and data loss due to natural or human disasters. This visual presentation aims to help institutions systematically understand potential risks and develop effective strategies for mitigation and response, ensuring operational continuity and data security.

4WD Smart Car Chassis Now Available at Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications to Support Researchers and Advance SDGs

As part of its continuous support for researchers and students, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University announces the availability of the 4WD Car Chassis among its advanced technical resources. This smart chassis serves as a solid foundation for building robotic and intelligent vehicle projects. It includes a durable base, four DC gear motors, a battery holder, and easy connection ports compatible with Arduino or other microcontrollers. The chassis is ideal for educational robotics, self-navigating vehicles, line-following smart cars, and interactive mobile projects. Sensors such as ultrasonic or line trackers can be added to enhance its autonomous capabilities. This initiative reflects the Center’s commitment to SDGs, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), by empowering innovators and fostering hands-on, AI-driven research projects. Third Session of the Industrial Advisory Council Held at the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies – Al-Mustaqbal University

The Industrial Advisory Council at the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies – Al-Mustaqbal University held its third session on Monday, June 2, 2025, chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College, and attended by a distinguished group of experts and consultants from both public and private sectors. Attendees included: Eng. Adnan Al-Faihan, President of the Babylon Chamber of Commerce, Eng. Saleem Al-Rubaie and Eng. Alaa Hamza Daham (Private Sector), Dr. Adnan Abdul-Nabi, Assistant Director of the Rubber Factory in Kufa, Eng. Haider Mohammed, representing the Warith Center for Prosthetics – Holy Hussainiya Shrine, along with Heads of Scientific Departments and Directors of Research Centers at the University, including Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications. Dr. Azhar Mohsen welcomed the attendees, highlighting the College’s vision to strengthen cooperation with the industrial sector, which plays a vital role in equipping students with practical skills and enhancing community service. The session addressed several key topics, including: Training and qualifying students to meet labor market demands. Linking graduation projects with business incubators and entrepreneurship. Distinguished Research Published by Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi in AI-Based Video Colorization

Distinguished Research Published by Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi in AI-Based Video Colorization The Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University extends its sincere congratulations to Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, Director of the Center, for the publication of his distinguished research titled: "Dynamic Reference Image Selection for Seamless Video Colorization Across Scenes" in the Passer Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, Volume 1, Issue 1, 2025. The study addresses the technical challenge of coloring black-and-white videos with multiple scene changes. It proposes a novel AI-based framework for dynamically selecting optimal reference images for each video scene, using ResNet50-GeM for visual feature extraction and Structural Similarity Index (SSI) for scene differentiation. The method achieved a high accuracy of 99% in identifying scene transitions and selecting the most suitable reference images, ensuring smooth and realistic video colorization. 🔹 Relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 4: Quality Education – through the development of visually enhanced educational tools.
