Al-Mustaqbal University held an official celebration at the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, in recognition of its outstanding academic achievements after securing first place in Iraq in the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (ISR) 2026, as well as ranking second nationally and first among private universities in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026, marking a distinguished scientific achievement that reflects the University’s leading position locally and internationally.
The celebration was attended by Babylon Governor Mr. Adnan Fayhan and Director of the Babylon Provincial Council Mr. Salem Al-Muslimawi, along with a number of officials and prominent academic and governmental figures.
The visiting delegation was welcomed by the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and the Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, Prof. Dr. Nidhal Khdhair Al-Abbadi, who highlighted the importance of such visits in supporting partnerships between the University and governmental institutions, leveraging artificial intelligence technologies to serve the community and promote sustainable development.
The celebration included a tour of the Center’s facilities, during which the guests reviewed key research projects and smart applications developed at the Center, covering various fields including education, services, environment, digital transformation, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students and researchers.
The guests praised the pioneering role of Al-Mustaqbal University in adopting modern technologies, emphasizing the importance of supporting specialized research centers for their direct impact on developing service and developmental sectors in Babylon Governorate and Iraq at large.
This celebration comes within the framework of Al-Mustaqbal University’s vision to strengthen its position as a leading academic institution in innovation and scientific research, while building effective bridges of cooperation with governmental entities, aligning with future requirements and contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
