The Quality Assurance Department, in coordination with the Scientific Affairs Department at Al Mustaqbal University, organized a panel discussion hosting Mr. Rami Awad, the Regional Director of QS for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. The session focused on strategies to enhance the university’s performance in international rankings.
The discussion was attended by the Director of Academic and Scientific Supervision, college deans, and directors of scientific and quality assurance departments, who exchanged insights on improving academic and research competitiveness.

As part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to enhance quality and academic accreditation, the Quality Assurance Department participated in a workshop organized by the American University in Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB) titled “Internal Audit and Its Role in Enhancing the Implementation of Institutional Accreditation Standards.” The workshop covered the latest internal audit methods and its role in improving institutional performance and adhering to international standards, reflecting our commitment to sharing expertise and applying best practices in developing an outstanding educational environment.
As part of the ongoing collaboration between Al-Mustaqbal University and government institutions, Dr. Riyadh Hamed Salman, Head of the Quality Assurance Division at the university, delivered the first lecture of a specialized training course organized by the Petroleum Research and Development Center at the Ministry of Oil.
The course, titled “Mechanisms for Using the LaTeX Typesetting Program in Scientific Article Writing,” aimed to equip participants with advanced skills in preparing and formatting academic and technical documents.
The Performance Evaluation Division has carried out an audit process for the College of Health and Medical Technologies and its various departments. This aims to review performance evaluation files and verify the accuracy of the entered information, ensuring its alignment with supporting documents.
This step comes as part of the college s commitment to enhancing transparency and quality in performance evaluation processes, ensuring that documents comply with the required criteria. The audit included a thorough review of all relevant documents and records to achieve the highest levels of accuracy and reliability.
The Quality Assurance Department held an online meeting with college quality officers to discuss ways to enhance academic and administrative performance and strengthen academic accreditation standards within the university.
The meeting included discussions on the latest developments and challenges in implementing quality standards, as well as reviewing future improvement plans and exchanging successful experiences among colleges. Emphasis was placed on the importance of adhering to quality assurance standards to achieve institutional excellence and enhance the university’s position in international rankings.
The Accreditation Division at the Quality Assurance department, in cooperation with the College of Health and Medical Technologies, organized a series of training workshops. These workshops lasted for five days covering the national standards for accrediting the programs of colleges and institutes of health and medical technologies in Iraq, at a rate of two standards per day.
Dr. Aysem Mahmoud, head of the Quality Assurance Division at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, presented lectures during the workshops. Attendees of these workshops were all committees in charge of monitoring standards, with each committee taking responsibility for documenting the standard under their supervision.
The workshops Also included a detailed review of the criteria and their associated elements, with a comprehensive explanation of all indicators and a statement of the evidence supporting each of them.
The Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department organized a scientific workshop at the College of Dentistry on program accreditation, delivered by Dr. Riyadh Hamid Salman, Head of the Quality Assurance Division.
The workshop covered the importance of program accreditation in enhancing higher education quality, evaluation criteria, and the steps required to achieve accreditation in line with the latest international standards.
The event was attended by faculty members and professionals interested in academic quality, who actively engaged with the speaker and discussed the implementation of accreditation in academic programs. This workshop is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of quality and enhance academic performance.
