Under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit in the Department of Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University and the Women’s Affairs Committees in Biomedical Engineering, organized an awareness workshop dedicated to women entitled “Rationalizing Water Consumption, with the aim of enhancing environmental awareness and consolidating a culture of water sustainability” on 20/1/2026, in implementation of the contents of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace and Security / Protection and Prevention Pillar – Paragraph (8). The workshop shed light on the pivotal role of women in leading positive environmental behaviors within the family and society, as an effective element in protecting natural resources and ensuring their sustainability for future generations, emphasizing that individual awareness constitutes the basis for any sustainable societal change. The workshop included several themes, namely introducing the concept of rationalizing water consumption and its environmental and economic importance, clarifying the impact of rational use in reducing water waste and enhancing water security, as well as presenting simple daily practices that can be adopted to reduce consumption and transferred to the family and community environment, which enhances a culture of shared responsibility. This activity comes in line with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality), affirming the leadership role of women in environmental awareness and active participation in protecting natural resources and achieving the principles of sustainable development.
