Under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in cooperation with the Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), Al-Mustaqbal University launched the activities of the EURAS Academy 2026 International Forum, which is being held for the first time in Iraq, with wide international and local participation from higher education leaders, academics, and decision-makers The opening ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili, the President of EURAS Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydin, and the President of Al-Mustaqbal University Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, along with a number of Iraqi university presidents, vice presidents, deans, and faculty members. The forum is being actively organized and followed up by the Scientific Affairs Department at Al-Mustaqbal University The opening speeches emphasized the importance of the forum in strengthening international academic partnerships and keeping pace with global transformations in higher education, particularly in the fields of quality assurance, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability The forum is held under the theme “Quality, Sustainability, and Global Partnerships: Transforming Higher Education in the Middle East and North Africa”, and includes specialized dialogue sessions addressing university governance, internationalization, joint scientific research, and models of sustainable universities In this context, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University affirmed that hosting this important international event reflects the university’s commitment—supported by the Scientific Affairs Department—to enhancing its academic standing and leading role in fostering innovation and shaping the future of higher education in Iraq and the region
