Scientific seminar for the Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Performance in the College of Nursing

the Quality Assurance Unit in the College of Nursing in collaboration with the Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Performance at the AL-MUSTAQBAL University organized a scientific seminar on programmatic accreditation entitled (The journey of programmatic accreditation for the College of Nursing: Exploring its path and culture). The seminar was delivered by Professor Dr. Saadiya Hadi Hamidi Al-Sharawi, Dean of the College of Nursing, and Assistant Professor Dr. Sosm Jassim Obaid, consultant to the Department of Quality Assurance and Academic Performance. Professor Dr. Saadiya Al-Sharawi spoke about the journey of programmatic accreditation for the College of Nursing, which began in 2021, when the programmatic accreditation committee was formed and the work plan was prepared and implemented. She explained that programmatic accreditation is a comprehensive evaluation process of academic programs, aimed at ensuring that they meet the quality requirements and professional standards in force. She pointed out that programmatic accreditation contributes to raising the level of quality of education and learning, and improving the employment opportunities of graduates of academic programs. For his part, Assistant Professor Dr. Sosm Obaid spoke about the importance of programmatic accreditation, and how to achieve it. He mentioned that programmatic accreditation requires compliance with a set of standards and procedures, which are: • Clear educational objectives and outcomes • Quality of the curriculum • Adequacy of faculty members • Quality of the educational process • Quality of assessment • Quality of facilities and equipment Dr. Sosm Obaid gave a presentation on programmatic accreditation, in which he explained the standards and procedures required to achieve it. The seminar was attended by a large number of faculty members and employees at the College of Nursing, where they interacted with the speakers and asked questions about programmatic accreditation.
