A delegation from the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department participated in the panel discussion titled "Academic Accreditation and International Standards in Educational Institutions," held at the American University in Baghdad. The session was attended by Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Mahmoud, a member of the National Institutional Accreditation Council in Iraq, along with several quality managers from government, private universities, colleges, and individuals interested in quality assurance and academic performance departments. The discussion covered several topics, notably international standards (ISO) and their role in enhancing the quality of education and institutional management. These standards contribute to curriculum development and ensure the quality of educational services. They also facilitate effective communication and improve overall institutional management, enhancing excellence and continuous improvement. Additionally, the discussion presented the accreditation process, both institutional and programmatic, elucidating the organizational steps universities and departments can take to obtain accreditation. This involves self-assessment reports, improvement plans, compliance report preparation, and reviewer evaluation. Furthermore, it explained how to analyze internal and external environments to achieve the highest quality standards in universities. It is worth mentioning that the Quality Assurance and Academic Performance Department at Future University operates under the direct supervision of the university president, in collaboration with colleges and departments to fulfill institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements. Institutional and programmatic accreditation reflects the university's commitment to providing high-quality education, indicating quality infrastructure, management, and academic programs. This helps attract students, ensures that education meets specific standards, and enhances the university's reputation locally and internationally
