ALMustaqbal University celebrates the International Day of Girls in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as part of its efforts to enhance the role of women in these fields. In collaboration with the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, the Women's Affairs Department organized an event marking this global day. The ceremony featured a speech by Professor Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, emphasizing the importance of women's leadership and innovation in ICT, highlighting their vital role in academic and university advancement. Following this, Dr. Sahira Qahtan Abdul Jabbar, Head of the Women's Affairs Department, stressed the significance of inspiring and supporting women striving for excellence in computer software, engineering, project management, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The program included success stories of women in the ICT department at the university, as well as a documentary showcasing their innovative research and projects, supported and encouraged by the university president, Professor Hassan Shaker Majdi. The event concluded with the recognition and honoring of outstanding women with shields and certificates of appreciation. This initiative is part of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to empower Iraqi women in the technical community, reaffirming the university's commitment to supporting and empowering women in higher education and research.
