Dr. Nidal Khdeir Al-Abadi, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, has published groundbreaking research titled "Lung Cancer Detection Using Wavelet Transform and Deep Learning." The study aims to significantly enhance the accuracy of lung cancer diagnosis through an advanced model that integrates wavelet transform with deep learning techniques. The research methodology includes several key stages: preprocessing of images, applying wavelet transform to decompose images into multiple levels, utilizing auto-encoder techniques for dimensionality reduction and noise removal, and classifying images with a Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) algorithm. The model was evaluated on a dataset of 9541 images, comprising 4044 benign cases and 5497 malignant cases, and achieved a perfect classification accuracy of 100%. This advancement marks a significant step forward in improving diagnostic precision and treatment outcomes for lung cancer patients.
