As part of Al-Mustaqbal University's efforts to establish international partnerships with reputable universities, and in alignment with the initiative launched by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, to internationalize higher education in Iraq, Internationalization of Higher Education, Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, visited October 6 University of Technology in the Arab Republic of Egypt at the head of a delegation that included Dr. Munther Fadhel Hassan, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Muthaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Dr. Walaa Al-Fallouji, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Mr. Abdul Rida Shaker Majdi, Director of Diwan Affairs. The visiting delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Heba Farouk Salem, President of October 6 University of Technology, who emphasized the deep historical ties between Egypt and Iraq. She pointed out the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the fields of education, research, and training, and strengthening partnerships between Egyptian and Iraqi universities. She clarified that this cooperation is in line with the directives of His Excellency Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt, to form partnerships with internationally renowned universities, benefiting from their expertise in offering high-quality academic programs that ensure a distinguished international standard of education, and equip graduates with internationally and locally recognized qualifications. For his part, Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, explained that the visit aims to strengthen international academic cooperation between the two universities. He noted that this collaboration will greatly contribute to achieving shared goals for the development of higher education at a global level, building bridges of mutual understanding and academic relations that benefit the academic community in both countries. He also emphasized the potential to open new avenues for cooperation in several areas of mutual interest, particularly with the presence of similar faculties and departments in both universities. This includes joint scientific research, faculty exchange, capacity-building, organizing scientific conferences, workshops, and exchanging successful experiences. In his speech, Dr. Muthaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi gave an overview of Al-Mustaqbal University, highlighting its organizational structure, academic achievements in the field of research, global rankings, and the initiatives undertaken by the university. He also mentioned the significant international partnerships Al-Mustaqbal University has forged, whether with academic institutions or with international organizations and federations related to the higher education sector. He reviewed the possible areas of cooperation, according to the terms outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding. On the sidelines of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Heba Farouk Salem, President of October 6 University of Technology, accompanied Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and the accompanying delegation on a field tour to inspect the university’s infrastructure, including classrooms, laboratories, and training workshops within the campus. They also reviewed the academic programs offered by the university. At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi expressed his delight in visiting October 6 University of Technology, praising the university's scientific and research capabilities, which distinguish it in the fields of technology and the industries based on it.
