As part of an initiative to strengthen international collaboration and exchange academic expertise, Iraq’s AL_Mustaqbal University and the British University in Cairo have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance scientific and academic cooperation. This agreement aligns with the initiative to internationalize higher education in Iraq, previously announced by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In this context, the President of AL_Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, led an official delegation to the British University in Cairo. The high-level academic delegation included Professor Dr. Mundhir Fadel Hassan, Administrative Assistant to the University President; Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Dr. Walaa Louay Ali, Dean of the College of Medicine; Professor Abdulreda Shaker Majdi, Director of the University’s Administrative Affairs; and Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Abdul Rahman, Assistant Dean of the College of Dentistry. The delegation was warmly received by Professor Dr. Mohammed Ismail, Advisor to the President of the British University in Cairo; Professor Dr. Tarek Abbas, Vice President for the Medical Group; Professor Dr. Mohie El-Mazar, Dean of the College of Pharmacy; and Professor Dr. Firdous Rizk, Dean of the College of Dentistry. Upon arrival, a joint meeting was held, during which Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of AL_Mustaqbal University, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome. He then outlined the university’s vision, mission, and objectives, emphasizing Future University’s commitment to establishing genuine and effective partnerships with prestigious global institutions, including the British University in Cairo, renowned for its strong academic and scientific reputation internationally. Following this, Professor Dr. Mughaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, provided a brief overview of AL_Mustaqbal University, highlighting its colleges, programs, and the significant rankings it has achieved both nationally and globally. He also pointed out the common areas for collaboration between the two universities. A documentary film about AL_Mustaqbal University was then presented. Professor Dr. Mohammed Ismail, Advisor to the President of the British University, welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed his delight at the visit, highlighting the deep historical ties between Iraq and Egypt—two nations that witnessed the birth of the world’s earliest civilizations, the Nile Valley and Mesopotamia. He affirmed the British University’s full readiness to collaborate across all areas of mutual interest, in accordance with the legal frameworks of both countries. During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two institutions to expand cooperation in scientific research, academic program development, and cultural exchange for faculty members and students. The agreement also focuses on capacity building, organizing joint conferences, and fostering collaborative scientific and student activities. On the sidelines of the visit, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi took a field tour of the British University’s infrastructure, including lecture halls and state-of-the-art laboratories. He also explored innovative initiatives across various faculties, particularly the Colleges of Pharmacy and Dentistry, where he was introduced to the latest educational technologies and teaching methodologies.
