As part of a strategic initiative aimed at fostering and supporting technological and social innovations through partnerships with national institutions and, subsequently, with international organizations, AL-Mustaqbal University—under the leadership of its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi—participated in the second meeting with the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control (COSQC). This meeting was held in response to COSQC’s initiative, inviting both AL-Mustaqbal University and the University of Baghdad to form a national partnership to achieve common goals in this field. The collaboration focuses on the establishment of Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) at both AL-Mustaqbal University and the University of Baghdad. Additionally, AL-Mustaqbal University is actively engaging with COSQC in efforts to include Iraq in the Global Innovation Index (GII), with direct coordination and support from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as COSQC represents Iraq in this global organization. Representing AL-Mustaqbal University at the meeting were Professor Dr. Mudhaffar Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, and Dr. Samir Badrawi, Director of International and Local Cultural Relations. From the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Assistant President for Academic Affairs, attended the meeting, which was chaired by Professor Dr. Fayadh Mohammed Abdul, President of COSQC. The meeting also included a distinguished group of COSQC specialists involved in key topics such as Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) and the Global Innovation Index (GII). This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening the collaboration between higher education institutions and government bodies, contributing to Iraq’s transition into a new phase of development and progress.
