Under the Patronage and Attendance of the Minister of Higher Education: Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in the Second Global Day of Babylonian Civilization Events

Al-Mustaqbal University participated with a delegation led by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the Administrative Assistant Prof. Dr. Munther Fadhil Hassan, Director of Diwan Affairs Mr. Abdul Razaq Shaker Majdi, Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Ammar Al-Husseini, Dean of the Faculty of Education Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Rawdan, and Program Officer Prof. Dr. Mazen Kazar, alongside a selection of faculty members and students, in the second day of the global celebration of Babylonian civilization, which was held in Babil Governorate. The event was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, who called for strengthening specialized scientific research in the fields of archaeology and civilization, praising the academic participation of Al-Mustaqbal University. The event was also sponsored by Babil Governor Mr. Adnan Al-Dulaimi, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University of Babil, Prof. Dr. Amin Al-Yasiri, and several professors and academics. During his meeting with His Excellency the Minister, the President of the University emphasized that Al-Mustaqbal University’s participation in this event aims to support national efforts to revive the Babylonian heritage, and to embody the rituals of Akitu through archaeological, cultural, and artistic activities, as well as contribute to discussions on ways to develop scientific and cultural tourism in Babil. The Al-Mustaqbal University pavilion attracted a wide turnout from local and international delegations, featuring an exceptional display of Babylonian artifacts in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology at the College of Arts, which provided a documented scientific explanation of the symbols and pieces on display, showcasing the cultural heritage of the city of Babylon. Additionally, the pavilion presented the university s peer-reviewed scientific publications, reflecting the research and academic efforts made in various fields, especially those related to history, archaeology, and humanities, highlighting the university s leading role in supporting studies on civilization and heritage. This event, the first of its kind in Iraq, will last for three days and includes specialized conferences on archaeology and investment, in addition to exhibitions of flowers, traditional industries, folk crafts, and literary and cultural productions, all of which embody the rich cultural heritage of the city of Babylon and its historical role in serving humanity.
