As part of the 3rd International Future Sustainability Week 2025, Al-Mustaqbal University showcased a unique integration of heritage and innovation, reviving the spirit of ancient Babylon through a range of scientific, cultural, and technological activities. The events highlighted a journey from the historic clay tablets that marked the dawn of civilization to today’s cutting-edge advancements in sustainable technology and artificial intelligence. The festival is held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the direct supervision of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi. It has drawn broad participation from national and international universities and research institutions. Early highlights of the event included the opening of specialized exhibitions featuring innovative student projects in clean energy, AI, and environmental solutions. Notable showcases include the "Sustainable House" project, smart systems for irrigation and waste management, and software applications supporting green economy and intelligent education. In a statement to the university’s media, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi emphasized that Al-Mustaqbal University is not only committed to academic excellence, but also to embedding sustainability awareness within the community. The university seeks to connect the greatness of Mesopotamian civilization with future challenges, affirming its mission to contribute to a more balanced and sustainable world.
