On Saturday, April 19, 2025, Al-Mustaqbal University witnessed one of the most prominent scientific and technological events as part of the Third International Future Sustainability Week Festival, with the grand opening of the Innovation Exhibition in Renewable Energy and Artificial Intelligence. The event was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, along with a number of distinguished academic and official figures, including Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili (Administrative Deputy Minister of Higher Education), Prof. Dr. Ali Maseer (President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate), Dr. Fadel Al-Badran (Deputy Minister of Culture), and Prof. Dr. Mithaak Al-Jubouri (Administrative Assistant at the University of Babylon). In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7), the Solar and Renewable Energy Exhibition was launched at the Center for Energy Research, where Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, Dean of the College of Engineering and Engineering Technologies, presented a comprehensive overview of the exhibition and highlighted the most prominent innovations in clean energy technologies, including: A smart home powered by solar energy and integrated with the Internet of Things. Advanced energy storage systems using high-efficiency batteries. Flexible solar panels adaptable to various surface types. Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) technologies for electricity generation. Solar-powered electric vehicle charging stations supporting eco-friendly transportation. Concurrently, the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications played a pivotal role in enriching the exhibition by presenting a distinguished collection of innovative projects that utilize artificial intelligence to support sustainability, including: An intelligent energy consumption management system for buildings using machine learning techniques. Solar-powered robots capable of performing service-related tasks. Smart climate data analytics for predicting energy consumption patterns and optimizing usage. Predictive maintenance models for energy systems based on AI to minimize breakdowns and enhance efficiency. These contributions garnered significant attention and praise from attendees due to their direct impact on advancing innovation and sustainable technologies, reaffirming Al-Mustaqbal University’s status as a leading institution that merges education, scientific research, and practical responses to sustainable development challenges. These activities underscore the university’s commitment to achieving SDG 7 and SDG 17 by fostering national and international partnerships and promoting innovation as a strategic pathway toward a more sustainable and intelligent future.
