The opening ceremony was held in the presence of a large number of distinguished local and international academic and official figures. The first day of the festival featured the inauguration of the First International Conference on Modern Technologies and Their Applications in Sustainable Education, in addition to the opening of several scientific exhibitions. These exhibitions showcased promising initiatives by students, researchers, faculty members, and academic departments, all aimed at supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The audience also included university presidents, deans, government officials, faculty members, and researchers. Representing the university president, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, delivered the conference’s opening address. He highlighted the significance of this year’s edition, which coincides with the 15th anniversary of the founding of Al-Mustaqbal College and the first anniversary of its transformation into AL-Mustaqbal University. He reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to turning its slogan, “Towards a Sustainable University,” into a tangible reality. Dr. Al-Zuhairi emphasized the vital role of artificial intelligence in the digital transformation across various sectors, especially education. He noted that the university established its AI Center last year, a move that strengthened its standing among leading academic institutions in this field. He also pointed out the university’s commitment to integrating sustainability concepts into curricula and supporting research aligned with the SDGs—particularly since over 65% of its research output is now linked to sustainability topics. The opening session also included two panel discussions. The first focused on global experiences in sustainable education and featured the delegation from Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, moderated by Prof. Dr. Tareq Jawad, Director of the Department of Scientific Affairs.
