As part of its ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability, Al-Mustaqbal University has successfully produced Oyster Mushrooms, one of the most valuable and widely consumed edible fungi worldwide, second only to white and brown mushrooms. Oyster Mushrooms are renowned for their high nutritional value, serving as a rich source of vitamins and minerals. They also contain the rare antioxidant "Ergothioneine," which plays a crucial role in boosting the immune system and combating oxidative stress, offering significant health benefits. This achievement is part of the university’s broader initiatives to promote sustainable organic farming, which have also yielded high-quality crops such as yellow watermelon, climbing melon, and other plant varieties that support biodiversity and enhance food security in Iraq, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2, 12, 15). In parallel, Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications at Al-Mustaqbal University is actively studying smart agriculture technologies. The center focuses on integrating AI solutions to optimize agricultural productivity, efficiently manage natural resources, and monitor crop health, contributing to sustainable agricultural development. Through these scientific and environmental endeavors, Al-Mustaqbal University continues to strengthen its leadership as an academic institution that blends innovation with social responsibility, setting a benchmark for productive and sustainable universities.
